Photography Tuition is a one to one (or 2 or 3 if you want to share the cost) photography skills course tailored to your requirements. No matter what photography skills you have now, your course will be designed around your aims and interests and move you on to the next level at your pace.

Your course is tailored to you, suitable for beginners and enthusiasts and anyone wanting to improve their photography skills - basically anyone with an interest in photography and who owns a camera. It’s particularly suitable for people new to photography or changing from film to digital photography or those who need to learn quickly for their work or a particular assignment.

Expert advice and encouragement will be given by a working professional photographer whose approach is to keep it simple and get it right, in the camera. The aim is to produce photographs that are virtually ready for printing and require minimal editing.

The emphasis is learning by doing. As much time as possible is spent on location taking photographs.

Photography Tuition is based in the North East of England. The choice of locations is incredibly varied – plenty of opportunity for photographers with an interest in landscapes, natural history, ancient monuments, cityscapes and the countryside in general.

Apart from learning photography skills you will experience a great day out exploring the region with a highly experienced professional photographer with a passion for the area.
  • There is no charge if you want to bring along a non participation friend or partner.
  • The hours for the full day (8 hour) and 4 hour are flexible and part days may be for morning, afternoon or evening. This allows us to focus on what you want from the course.
  • On the full day course we will stop for lunch (not included in the fee) at a pub or take a picnic.
  • The course is inclusive of a follow up photo assessment and problem solving session (by email / telephone).
  • You may book for any number of days and any time of the year.
  • Late autumn to early spring often brings the best light with frosty mornings and mist nestling in the valleys followed by crystal clear days of sparkling sunshine.
